Description
Through the darkness, you spot a faint light in the distance, deep orange and yellow glowing between the trees.
Frightened and exhausted, you tread carefully towards it. It is the first light you have seen in a long while.
It must be a good sign, right?
As you draw closer, your nose catches the scent of burning charcoal. Then you see him, the only source of light in this old forest.
Smiling Jack.
Is he a friend?
You push through dry twigs and brittle branches to get closer. His grin never changes. Thick white smoke curls from his mouth and glowing eyes.
Perhaps the darkness was safer after all.
