Description
Once a massive structure that stood tall above the land, the chapel has now been abandoned for centuries, and forever-patient nature has taken back what belonged to it. The once-majestic building has been reduced to ruin and rubble, with vines and roots taking their rightful place before the false god of the people who built it.
Only pieces of the main hall remain, now providing shelter for fireflies of various colours.
And there he stands?the Stag.
He was here long before the chapel was built and remembers when this was his favourite place to graze. He is the last of his kind. The rest were hunted down by the very people who took his beloved piece of land. They believed that possessing something taken from a black stag would grant them good fortune and special blessings. The chapel itself was once used for the ritual slaughter of this mythical animal.
The last remaining member of a long lineage, he was fortunate enough to be only a calf when those times came upon them, as the people were mainly after adult antlers and skulls.
At last, he stands here again. The people are long gone, and he is both blessed to be alive and cursed to live forever with his grief and sorrow.
